Carlos Cruz has extensive experience in marketing and sales management roles within the telecommunication industry. Being a computer scientist by training and major fan of Apple products our founder decided to use his spare time to return to his C++ programming days and attend the Stanford iPhone and iPad Development, lectured by the master Paul Hegarty.
During 2011 green basil published their first two Calculator Apps in the AppStore. As of April 2012, several thousand customers of more the 100 countries have downloaded green basil apps. Early 2012 Carlos Cruz decided to quit their day job to formally created green basil as an independent company. Since then, he has been leading development software teams, both mobile and web, mainly using OutSystems low code platform.

Carlos Cruz holds a MSc in computer science and a MBA.
